How To Organize Yourself for Fundraising and Investment

By December 2, 2021December 9th, 2022No Comments

Be clear about fundraising and other goals so that people can help you.

If you’re going to ask for help, you need to be very clear on what you need.

Think of it like hiring a landscape architect or meeting with your therapist. The clearer you are about what you need and want, the more likely you’ll get the results you’re looking for. Your backyard will turn out just as you envisioned it. And your therapy sessions will give you the clarity that you’ve been looking for.

Similarly, before going into an investment meeting, you want to make sure you have a deep understanding of what your startup needs.

And again, the same goes for networking. It all comes down to how clear you are.

Here are some things you can think about and should have an answer to when anyone asks:

  1. What are your top 3 business goals right now?
  2. How can your network help you right now?
  3. Who are 5 people outside of your network that you’d like to be introduced to right now?

Don’t go into a meeting or head to an event without the answers to these clearly laid out. When someone asks, you’ll be able to quickly and thoroughly respond, leaving you with a higher probability of getting what you want.

And making you look like a rockstar with all your ducks in a row.
