The fact that 11 other female founders also contributed to this Thrive Global article tells me that most of us probably aren’t (or weren’t at some point) functioning at our highest capacity.
And even when we charge forward and take the leap, we don’t talk enough about the fear and the vulnerability that we feel in the process.
My pivot to the Lady Engineer® in 2017 wasn’t without tears and a huge shadow of fear. After all, I was thumbing my nose at the entire Silicon Valley establishment.
I was afraid that no one would agree or see things from my perspective. Or worse, I was afraid that no one would care what I had to say. I was afraid that by saying loudly, “The Silicon Valley startup blueprint is ALL WRONG” was going to backfire
